How Talent Unlimited Uses AI in Recruitment

At Talent Unlimited, we prioritise transparency in how we use AI to enhance the recruitment process. Our AI systems are designed to support recruiters and candidates by generating insights, tailoring questions, and providing actionable feedback, all while ensuring that decision-making remains entirely under human control. This document outlines our approach to transparency, detailing how we use AI, safeguard data, and ensure fairness and accountability at every step of the process.

How We Use AI

Our AI system generates tailored interview questions by analysing the job description, company profile, required skills, and the candidate’s CV. This ensures that each candidate receives relevant, role-specific questions that align with the hiring criteria. Candidate responses are assessed in real-time during the interview, allowing the AI to generate follow-up questions based on previous answers. This creates a responsive and adaptive interview experience, enabling a deeper exploration of candidate qualifications and skills.

The AI also uses a bespoke scoring matrix developed by HR professionals to provide actionable insights for recruiters. It generates an overall interview score as well as specific scores for skills and criteria based on the interview transcript. AI provides detailed assessments, feedback, and tips for both recruiters and candidates to further improve outcomes, enhancing the overall recruitment experience and refining future processes.

Ensuring Transparency

We make candidates aware of AI’s role at every stage of the process:

  • On the “How to Apply” page, we clearly state that interviews will be conducted by our AI assistant.
  • This message is reinforced in interview invitation emails, which explain that the interview will be conducted by Talent Unlimited’s AI assistant. The introduction and detailed instructions ensure candidates understand this before proceeding.
  • On the interview welcome page, we reiterate AI’s role in the process.
  • After the interview, candidates receive AI-generated feedback, with clear communication about its source.

Our website further supports transparency through the SAFE AI page, which outlines our commitment to ethical, secure, and transparent hiring practices based on Secure, Accountable, Fair, and Explainable principles.

Data Security and Privacy

Candidate data is handled with the utmost care:

  • Data is encrypted both at rest and in transit to ensure compliance with GDPR and other global data protection standards.
  • Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorised personnel.
  • We regularly review and update our security protocols to prevent breaches and protect data.

Accountability and Fairness

Human oversight is a core principle of our AI systems. AI never makes hiring decisions; recruiters review all AI-generated insights to ensure alignment with business needs and values. All decisions are fully traceable, supported by audit trails that document every step of the process.

To mitigate bias, our AI models are trained on objective criteria aligned with job specifications, avoiding reliance on historical data that could perpetuate bias. Synthetic data testing is employed to identify and address unintended bias, ensuring equitable outcomes across diverse demographics.

Candidate Rights

Candidates have the right to:
